Although we love to travel, this post is about a different kind of traveling. I am on a journey, and if you are interested, I would like you to join me!

In 2014, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had gained weight throughout the years, but I thought it was just because of having two children and life in general. Year after year, regardless of what weight loss program I tried or how much I dieted, my weight loss efforts were in vain. I was told that my thyroid disease was slowing down my metabolism.

Flashforward to the spring of 2019, when I was at my greatest weight ever. I was always tired and felt so unhealthy. I had visited the endocrinologist and a slew of other doctors and they told me that I had Hashimoto’s Disease. Pretty much my metabolism had come to a halt because of my thyroid. My question to the doctors was why did I have Hashimoto’s Disease?

I had no luck receiving an answer about the disease. I finally visited a Naturopath and paid money out of my pocket for an answer. There had to be a reason that my thyroid disease turned into Hashimoto’s.

After many tests, I had a Western Blot come back positive for Lyme Disease. Apparently, sometime in my life, and I have no clue when, I was bitten by a tick. The Lyme Disease attacked my thyroid, and now my thyroid pretty much doesn’t function, and a side effect is massive weight gain.

The Naturopath told me that there are so many individuals walking around who have no idea that they have Lyme Disease. Some people feel fine, some like me have health issues, and with some people, it kills them.

I had what I wanted… an answer. It was at this point that I felt like I had closure on the cause of my Hashimoto’s, and I was now ready to tackle it although I wasn’t sure how.

The most hurtful words ever spoken to me were about my weight, and it severely affects me. However, in looking for the positive, I understand people and emotions so much better now when they are dealing with something they can’t control, yet people judge them for it. I beat my self up, hid behind my kids in pictures, and wondered how anyone would read my blog and want to see me. It has been quite an emotional experience and I have given up so many times.

Although I am not the best at being accountable to myself, I have decided to be accountable to my family. Recently, I have set forth on the biggest journey of my life, and I am going to finish the journey with the help of Healthy Wage.

Since I have spent more money on dieting programs through the years then I did on my Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degrees combined, I am very skeptical of weight loss programs. Although I am fine tuning my own method of losing weight every day, I do need accountability. Healthy Wage is just the accountability that I need.

Healthy Wage is sponsored by big business, the government, and individuals within the program. How it works is that you put up a certain amount of money per month depending on how much you want to spend and how much weight you want to lose. If you meet the goal in your desired timeframe, Healthy Wage will cut you a check or send your money through Paypal for a far greater sum than you contributed.

If this sounds confusing, I will use myself as an example. I want to lose weight and be healthy within nine months. I chose to put up $50 per month for each of those nine months, so in total, I will invest $450 by March 2020. However, if I meet my goal, Healthy Wage will send me a check for $1679. Nothing to split with others, just a 273% return on my investment. Money aside, I will also meet my weight loss goal.

Monetary mini-challenges are also available so that you do not lose motivation along the way to meeting your goal.

Because I am known to lose focus, I told my kids that since we would be taking a cruise at the beginning of April, if I hold true and meet my weight loss goal, we would spend the money on extras while on our trip. Having my children watch me fight to lose the weight and making good on my promise for our trip gives accountability a whole other dimension. I am going to literally put my money where my mouth is.

I have included some videos if you are interested in learning more. I actually joined the affiliate program where people can travel with me on this journey and we can support each other! If you are interested, I would appreciate you clicking here to sign up. If you want to remain private, that is all you will ever need to do. If you would like to join me and journey together, email me at [email protected] and we will form a Healthy Wage community. Whichever way you chose, we will both be on our way to a healthier self and financially gain at the same time.

Traveling is sometimes hard and the unexpected does occur, but for each trip I have taken in my life, I am thankful. Although this trip doesn’t include luggage, car, or plane, I know that the outcome will be the best. I will see you on the road to health!
