In a small town in West Georgia, a beautiful secret is cooking, a cookie secret. Jessica Bryant, a 29-year-old baker, has transformed how cookies are baked and designed. Her cookies are truly taking the cake.

Cookie Secrets by Jessica

Jessica learned about baking and icing cookies from her mother and a friend at church. When Jessica realized that she loved creating unique cookies with different colors and designs, she began making these cookies for family gatherings. She posted her cookies on Facebook, and her friends began sharing the pictures with others. Soon orders were coming in from all over for her custom cookies. All of Jessica’s cookies are made to order based on the design and color profile of your choosing.

During the Christmas season of 2018, Jessica realized that her cookie creations were more than a hobby. She had so many orders that she could not fill them by herself, so she enlisted the help of her mother, Susan, who is also an established baker. Jessica created a Facebook page in January 2019, and her business, Cookie Secrets by Jessica, was born. She has not stopped baking and taking daily cookie orders since December 2018.

Jessica’s cookies have been ordered for colleges, political campaigns, showers of every kind, birthdays, weddings, graduations, teacher and office appreciation, party favors, and just about any celebration that you can imagine. She said that the cookies have become a popular replacement for birthday cakes. Cookie Secrets by Jessica can produce large orders of 20+ dozen or small batches of half dozens.

Not only does Jessica design and bake cookies, but she also takes custom bakery orders. When a university ordered 15 dozen cookies for a nursing program celebration, they also ordered ten dozen chocolate covered pretzel rods designed like thermometers.

Her mother, Susan, is also partaking in the business with her signature desserts, including cupcakes, cakes, and pies. Although Susan’s red velvet cupcake is her claim to fame, I will tell you that you will not taste a better peanut butter icing on this earth than what you will order from Cookie Secrets by Jessica.

Although Cookie Secret’s by Jessica became an overnight success, it was not Jessica’s first calling. Jessica worked in corporate America until 2015, when her father passed away with cancer. Jessica was living in Atlanta at the time, but she promised her father before he passed that she would move back home to be with her mother.

In December 2015, Jessica made good on her word and moved back to the small town in which she was raised. She became involved in her family’s barbeque business and has never looked back. Jessica never contemplated that her promise to her father would lead to such a successful business opportunity for her own life, but that is exactly what has happened.

The Cookies

Finding the secret to perfect cookies was not easy. It took Jessica hours of researching and baking to create her signature cookie and icing recipes. Defining the consistency of the icing and the softness of the cookies is truly an art. The cookies are 3/4 inch in thickness and have a nice buttery crispness that melts in your mouth. Although sugar cookies are Jessica’s best seller, she also offers both almond and lemon flavors as well.

Customers typically send Jessica pictures of what their ideal cookie design will be. She uses the designs as inspiration to create the customized cookies. With the cookies, it is the extra care and attention to detail that makes them stand out, from personalized names to matching the exact color profiles of weddings.

Another popular seller for Jessica are cookie kits. She provides 12 baked cookies, 2-3 icing colors, two sets of sprinkles, and instructions on how to design the perfect cookie at home. The kits have been used as the main attraction at birthday parties and are exceptionally popular during holiday seasons. Jessica’s cookie kits can be customized by design and icing colors.

Jessica’s next venture is to offer cookie baking classes. The classes will be available for groups of friends, couples, clubs, celebration parties such as birthday or bachelorette, and more! Since I have an affinity for cooking classes, this is right up my alley. I will be one of the first people in line to take a class!

Pricing

Jessica’s pricing is extremely reasonable for the masterpieces that you will receive. She does ask for two weeks notice so that she can design and prepare your cookies.

The Future Cookie Hut

Jessica’s family restaurant has helped in her ability to bake and sell the cookies. However, when asking Jessica about her goals and next steps for her cookie empire, Jessica said that it is her mission to open a cookie hut. The hut will be a stand-alone facility for designing and baking her cookies. Since goals are essential for any business to thrive, Jessica shared that in her hometown of Bowdon sits a shed that she is saving up to purchase and convert into the cookie hut of her dreams.

In the short six months that Jessica has been in business, she has been astounded by the number of orders and returning loyal customers. Her cookie dreams are becoming reality.

Jessica told me that it is her faith in God and her belief that He has set this opportunity before her that gives her the passion and zest to continuously improve her business. It is this zest that gives Jessica’s cookies that special taste of pure goodness. Jessica is both a blessed and a smart cookie herself!
