Sensitive Skin Care that Won’t Break the Bank
I received samples from Jessie’s Body Butters & More in exchange for my fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
Lucy may have the most sensitive skin of anyone I have ever known. I should have had a clue when we were eating Kraft Mac and Cheese when she was little and the skin around her mouth turned bright red. Oh, and I can’t forget the time in Panama City Beach when Lucy wanted to play with a facial mask, and it took two years and multiple trips to the dermatologist to clear up the irritation under her eyes. Lucy also had eczema, and her skin would be so dry in the winter time.
It took me way too long to understand the precautions needed for people with sensitive skin. However, over time I have become well versed in skin care. I realized that I have to search for specialized products for Lucy’s skin.
It is no secret that I am particular with chemicals in skincare products. I despise sodium laurel/laureth sulfate and aluminum, and I have bad feelings about what they can do to a person’s body. Last summer, my friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. As much as I believed in organic bath and home products, my friend’s diagnosis solidified my view on the harmful effects of chemicals in products. I began searching for the purest soaps, lip balms, and lotions.
Although I make the body lotion that I use daily, I prefer creams that are of a harder consistency to carry in my purse and school bag. The last thing I want when teaching children or grabbing my keys out of my purse is to get a handful of lotion instead. Since Lucy wants her own lotions and lip balms these days, I began searching for products that she can use without fear. I don’t want to tell my pre-teen daughter is that she cannot enjoy the enamor of beauty products because her skin is too sensitive.
With all of my searching, this winter I found the best body products for Lucy and our entire family. I was excited to give a bar of soap from this line to my friend during her cancer recovery. The brand is called Jessie’s Body Butters & More from Atlanta, Georgia. My favorite part of Jessie’s lotions is that the brand has an eczema (sensitive skin) line!

The Founder
Jessie’s Body Butters & More was founded by Jessica Hawthorne in 2018. She began production from her home. Jessica was inspired to create the brand because she and her mother would shop for skincare products, and upon reading the ingredients label, both were scared of the chemicals. Jessica then lived in Pensacola, Florida. When she moved to Atlanta five years ago, Jessica realized that she would be making the skincare products herself. After friends and acquaintances began asking Jessica for custom orders of her lotion, she expanded her line to include soap bars, loofahs, body scrubs, lip balms, and other body products.

The Eczema Line
I began purchasing from Jessie’s Body Butter & More because of Lucy’s constant battle with eczema and sensitive skin. When speaking with Jessica about the line, she states that a friend’s daughter suffered from eczema, and they too were on the search for body products that would not irritate the child’s skin. Jessica began experimenting with different ingredients, and the child tested each to see which combination of ingredients worked the best to heal the dry skin and reduce itching and irritation.

Finding the perfect eczema friendly blend of body products was no small task. Jessica tried many different combinations until she found the most effective. Once her friend’s daughter showed significant improvement, Jessica knew that she had created the perfect blend that would soon become the ingredients in all of her eczema line of skin care products.

Jessie’s Body & More eczema line uses a blend of organic and natural ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil, aloe vera, and a unique blend of essential oils to treat dry, itchy skin. The combination can also help reduce the appearance of scars, marks, and other common skin imperfections.

All Eczema products contain:
*Aloe Vera– helps in moisturizing your skin, keeping it hydrated, rejuvenated and glowing. It helps in soothing pain, infections, and inflammation. Aloe vera is an excellent plant for treating eczema, cuts, insect bites, and sunburns.
*Eucalyptus Essential Oil– The oil is anti-inflammatory as it heals wounds and relieves muscle pain. It also acts as an insect repellant.
*Lavender Essential Oil– aids in treating skin irritations and can be used for all skin types. The oil also promotes relaxation and eases muscle tension.
*Tea Tree Essential Oil– improves acne, skin irritations, is antifungal, and reduces odors.
*Frankincense Essential Oil– treats aging skin and help with pigmentation, tone, and tightening of the skin.

The Products
All of Jessica’s products are made to order for people of all ages and skin types. When ordering, just specify if the product will be used for a baby or someone with sensitive skin, and Jessica will only use essential oils that are accommodating to that particular person. Jessica researches each product that she includes in her body products. They are credibly sourced, and she is educated on how each ingredient improves your skin.

Jessica’s product lines are budget-friendly and accessible to all. I have picked up specialized products many times, and when I looked at the price tag, I had heart palpitations. I love knowing that people of all walks of life can afford this brand and reap the healing benefits of her body products.
Soap Bars

The eczema soap bars were the first products that I purchased from the brand. The bars are 100% organic and contain moisturizing shea butter glycerin soap. The soap bars are infused with essential oils and aloe to create perfect suds and scrub in one bar.

Also in the soap family are exfoliating loofahs. At first, I was confused about the loofahs, but when I was educated on them, I thought they were genius. The loofahs are custom fitted with your soap choice so that you can use the soap infused loofah daily. Any soap scent can be customized for the loofahs as well.

Available soap scents include Citrus Lavender (seasonal), African Black Soap (these have many of the same elements from the eczema line), Bentonite Clay Detox (draws our odors, great for sweat-prone areas of our bodies), Eczema (unscented for sensitive skin), Eucalyptus Mint, Frankincense, Lavender Lemon, Lavender Oatmeal, Lavish Lavender, Lemongrass, Oatmeal Honey, Rosemary Citrus (seasonal), Rosemary Lemon (seasonal), Peppermint, Sweet Citrus, Soft Lavender Lemon (seasonal), Tea Tree, Unscented, Vanilla Rose, and Zesty Lemon.
Body Scrubs

Jessica’s body scrubs are sugar based for maximum yet gentle exfoliation. The scrubs are infused with natural body oils, aloe, and essential oils that moisturize skin. Scrub scents include Citrus Lavender (seasonal), Bergamot Lime, Earth Tones, Eczema, Eucalyptus Mint, Lavender Lemon, Lavender Vanilla, Lavish Lavender, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Rosemary Citrus (seasonal), Rosemary Lemon (seasonal), Lavender Lemon, Sweet Citrus, Unscented, Vanilla, and Zesty Lemon.
Lip Balms
My favorite aspect of Jessica’s lip balms is how long they last on my lips. The balms truly act as a protectant from the weather elements. Scents include Eucalyptus Mint, Lemon, Peppermint, Sweet Citrus, and Vanilla.
Shea Butters
The whipped shea butter is made from 100% organic unrefined shea butter, organic coconut oil, and aloe. These ingredients are combined with natural body oils and essential oils to help moisturize dry skin. The butter’s whipped texture allows for quick absorption into the skin.
Shea butter scents include Citrus Lavender (seasonal), Earth Tones, Eczema, Eucalyptus Mint, Frankincense, Lavender Lemon, Lavender Vanilla, Lavish Lavender, Lemongrass, Rosemary Lemon (seasonal), Peppermint, Rosemary Citrus (seasonal), Lavender Lemon, Sweet Citrus, Unscented, Vanilla, Vanilla Rosehip, and Zesty Lemon.

Custom gift sets are available for purchase as well.
I highly recommend trying Jessie’s Body Butters & More body products. Lucy now has the opportunity to enjoy lotions, soaps, scrubs, and balms like other girls her age. I enjoy knowing that what we rub into our bodies does not contain harmful ingredients. Check the products out at www.jessiesbodybutters.com.
