Helloooo Chick-Fil-Ladies

My son, Jackson, has discovered girls. When he walks into a new place, Jackson always jokes that he is going to make the grand announcement, “Helloooo, Single Ladies, Jackson is here.” Sean and I typically just look at each other and laugh, or get a little scared, because Jackson doesn’t always have a filter.

Recently, we were all joking around on the way to Chick-Fil-A and he blurted out that his announcement was going to be, Helloooo Chick-Fil-Ladies!!! It was a very funny moment, but it got me thinking, something about Jackson eventually dating a girl who works at Chick-Fil-A is as comforting as a warm chicken sandwich or a chocolate peppermint milkshake.

As a teenager, I actually worked at Chick-Fil-A for four years. It was a good job with great people that are still my friends, 22 years later. I truly believe that Chick-Fil-A is a restaurant rooted in morals and goodness. It just so happens that they make good chicken.

Chick-Fil-A provides scholarships for its employee’s graduating high school who have worked a certain number of hours, and they are affiliated with Camp Winshape, a summer camp for children.

Sean loves that no matter where he travels across America, when he enters a Chick-Fil-A, the employees are friendly and the food is of consistent quality. Friendliness can be hard to come by at dining establishments.

On a recent visit, our family had three employees come over while we were dining to wish us a Happy New Year. The owner personally came by to ask if we needed anything and if our food was of good quality.

We have been treated the same by employees in Texas, California, and Pennsylvania, just to name a few states. Chick-Fil-A isn’t perfect, but they are pretty close as far as restaurants go. And if they do make a mistake, the restaurant goes above and beyond to make sure that the issue is resolved and that the customer leaves satisfied.

This summer, in Los Angeles, we were on a tour with a lady from Canada who had only heard of Chick-Fil-A but had never dined at one. Something about telling her that we were from Georgia triggered her to mention the restaurant. The lady told us that she was hoping to stop by a Chick-Fil-A before she headed back to Canada. When the lady told us this, I am sure that she got four very strange and sympathetic looks from us. I gave her my frank opinion that eating Chick-Fil-A was the most important thing that she could do on her vacation to the United States. I sure hope she had the opportunity to eat at one, it would have been utter sadness if she would have come all this way and did not get a chance to eat more chicken.

Not only is it ok for Jackson to be fond of Chick-Fil-Ladies, we will encourage him to become a Chick-Fil-Lad himself when he becomes a teenager. We will also encourage Lucy to become a Chick-Fil-Lady. The establishment has integrity and quality, and we want both of our children to integrate these character traits into their work ethic. It is my hope that the institution of amazing chicken does not change their quality or their morals. As much as we would love a chicken sandwich or nuggets on a Sunday afternoon, we respect and admire that the restaurant is closed.

Chick-Fil-A has developed a business model and family atmosphere to be admired and duplicated. Their consistency and amazing food makes them one of our favorite restaurants to visit. To all the Chick-Fil-Ladies and Chick-Fil-Lads out there, great job and we hope YOU have a blessed day! To all the patrons, isn’t it nice to have such a grounded and delicious restaurant that we can bring our families to dine?

What is your favorite aspect about Chick-Fil A? Or, do you have a restaurant that is so amazing, it is worth mentioning? We would love for you to drop us a line in the comment section below!

  3. I enjoyed this post and agree that Chick-Fil-A is truly on to something with their customer service training program. Although I don’t eat chicken often, I can’t say the same about their warm cookies😊.
