Walt Disney was a genius. To take an animated mouse and turn him into a dynasty is mind-boggling. Yet this is just what Disney did, first with cartoons and then with theme parks. While visiting Griffith Park in Los Angeles, he was inspired to create what would soon become Disneyland in California. Although there are Disney parks and resorts in six cities around the world, there is something special about the 1955 original Disney park.
Savannah, Georgia, is a city rich in history and culture, and this blog post can only touch on a small sector of the town’s attractions. We look forward to returning to Savannah soon to discover more of this beautiful city. I love it when we visit a city and find attractions and restaurants that we have not previously explored.
Fort Yargo is one of our favorite Georgia State Parks. It is easy to travel to the park with only a 45-minute drive from Atlanta. Fort Yargo has 1,800 acres of fun. Whether you love the water or the woods, you can find relaxation and adventure with both at Fort Yargo. The park has a 260-acre lake with a beach and perfect picnic spots along its banks.
Our family loves to take weekend trips. However, I am always questioning taking the trips about 3:30 pm on the Friday afternoon that we are leaving. We look forward to taking the trips for weeks and even months in advance, only to have second thoughts as we try to pack quickly and get out the door. I do TRY to have our packing in order, but it never seems to work out quite like I plan.
